Guide to GrommrXL

In March, 2024, Grommr officially changed our primary payment provider from Stripe to PayPal and CCBill. Members who previously purchased GrommrXL through Stripe will continue to receive GrommrXL benefits until the end of their current premium period, however those Stripe subscriptions will not automatically renew.

Purchases of GrommrXL via www.grommr.com are now handled by two different payment providers: one-month and three-month GrommrXL passes are processed via CCBill and automatically renew. One-year and one-year combo GrommrXL / Chasable+ passes are processed via PayPal and do not automatically renew.

Via CCBill, we currently accept the following methods of payment:

Visa, Mastercard, JCB and Discover credit cards.

Via PayPal, we currently accept the following methods of payment:

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards; your bank account; and your PayPal Balance.

To cancel a GrommrXL subscription purchased with CCBill, please visit the CCBill Cancellation page.

To cancel your existing GrommrXL subscription purchased via the Grokio Communities app, please visit the subscriptions manager for your Apple account or Google account.

Billing FAQ

What is the difference between Regular (free) and GrommrXL (paying) accounts?

Both regular and GrommrXL accounts allow you to explore, connect and share on Grommr. Regular and GrommrXL users have access to the same features, but in some areas those features have restrictions for regular users and are unrestricted for GrommrXL users. For instance, regular users can view up-to 25 full-size photos each day, while GrommrXL users can view as many as they want. To see the full list of what’s considered unrestricted/restricted, please visit your account overview page and click on the “Plans” tab.

What happens when my GrommrXL expires? Will I lose anything?

When your GrommrXL expires, nothing will be deleted, however you will notice restricted access to some things that had been unrestricted before. For example: You’ll find that while you can still reply to existing private conversations, you now can only initiate 10 new conversations per day (including private messages, flirts, and wall-to-wall posts).

Will my GrommrXL automatically be renewed upon expiration?

All GrommrXL plans purchased via CCBill or the Grokio Communities app are renewing (meaning unless you cancel your subscription, it will renew at the end of the designated period). Purchases made via the website using PayPal are non-renewing. If you’d like to cancel your renewing plan, you can do so at any time. Canceling will not remove any of your remaining days, it will simply stop the renewal process at the next scheduled payment date. If your GrommrXL plan expires for any reason or if you cancel your renewing plan and you’d like to get GrommrXL again, just go back and pay for a new period of time and full GrommrXL access will be restored immediately.

How will the GrommrXL charge appear on my billing statement?

Your billing statement will show as "CCBill.Com * Grokio" or “PAYPAL *GROKIO” (Grokio Communities LLC is the operating company behind Grommr). The name Grommr will not appear on your statements.

How can I purchase GrommrXL if I don’t have a credit card?

We know that some Grommr members don’t have access to a credit card to purchase a GrommrXL pass, and there’s a few options available to you:

Use PayPal on the website

Members purchasing a one-year GrommrXL subscription via the website can use PayPal, which allows payment by bank account or PayPal balance in addition to credit card.

Pay through your mobile device on the Grokio Communities app

You can purchase GrommrXL via the Grokio Communities app, which will directly charge whichever payment method you use on your mobile device. You can link a number of payment services to your mobile device’s payment system, including PayPal.
